It was an incredible journey with Antonio, and I am sad to see it come to an end! I feel in the last five weeks, I really saw him grow and evolve as a dancer. One of my favorite things Antonio has told me is he truly feels like dancing has helped his game. He feels quicker, stronger, and he feels like he is going to learn routes easier now after learning such complicated choreography.
We may have not won the mirror ball together, but I think this has been a huge win for Antonio. We shared so many incredible moments this season. My favorite was the very last dance “The Hall of Fame.” If there was ever a way to go out, that is how you want to do it. He truly lived in that moment and felt every word. I chose that song because I know that it is a dream for Antonio. He wants to be the greatest, he wants to be the best, and he wants to be in the Hall of Fame.
I feel that was such a beautiful way to end our journey together on “Dancing with the Stars.” Antonio and I will be friends long after “Dancing with the Stars” is over. I will be at many of the Steelers games, showing my support for the entire team. Antonio and I have also talked about developing touchdown dances, which I think could be a lot of fun.
Heading into the finale, it is a jam-packed week! There is so much going on, and this is shaping up to one of the best finales yet. We have guest performances, incredible freestyles in the mix, and so many things going on. I am truly excited and honored to be a part of it, even though Antonio and I couldn’t make it into that final. I still have my family there and I am standing strong behind Peta, Val, and Mark. I am still cheering them on from the sidelines!
