MTV Movie Award Winner Daisy Ridley Trumpets the Diversity of 'Star Wars'
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" actress Daisy Ridley took home an MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance, and she used her acceptance speech to further Hollywood's conversation about diversity.
Daisy, on-trend in a black-and-white minidress, said, "It feels especially amazing to be part of a film that represents all genders — two genders — all races and all ages in a positive way."
People magazine reports that Daisy was celebrating not only an award for her turn as Rey in the film, but also her birthday weekend — she turned 24 on Sunday!
