UPDATE: Galeota had run into some legal trouble over the years. TMZ reports he was arrested for three DUIs between 2006 and 2015, and had served jail time for violating his probation. His latest DUI case from September was still open at the time of his death.
Michael Galeota, best known for his role on the Disney Channel's "The Jersey," has died. He was 31.
TMZ says Galeota wasn't feeling well last week and went to the hospital complaining of abdominal pains. He reportedly left Wednesday against the advice of his doctor.
A concerned friend stopped by his Glendale home on Sunday to check on him, and found his body.
The medical examiner says he died of natural causes, and an autopsy has been scheduled.
Aside from his role as Nick Lighter on "The Jersey," Galeota also had small roles on "Ally McBeal," "ER," and a leading role in "Bailey Kipper's P.O.V." He was also seen in the 1995 film "Bushwhacked."
