Kristin Cavallari's brother Michael has been found dead after his mysterious disappearance.
Kristin said in a statement to People magazine, "We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”
The Utah police had been in search of Michael ever since his abandoned car was found on I-70, one day after Thanksgiving. Surveillance cameras tracked him to a convenience store 100 miles away from his car. His whereabouts after the stop were unknown.
Despite his troubled past, which included an arrest on November 23, Kristin was always supportive of the 30-year-old. A source recently shared with People, "She was always very protective of him. She was always trying to help him. He had been trying to produce reality shows awhile ago, but it didn't work out."
