Celebrity News November 08, 2015 Gunnar Hansen, 'Leatherface' of 'Texas Chain Saw Massacre' Fame, Dies at 68 Gunnar Hansen, known to horror-movie fans as the original "Leatherface" in the blood-and-guts classic "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" (1974), has died at 68. In recent years, Hansen had been a regular at autograph shows, and in 2013 published his memoir "Chain Saw Confidential." The actor was remembered as a gentle giant (6'4") whose personality was the opposite of that of his most famous character.
