Caitlyn Jenner Nervously Tries Out Her Best Feminine Voice for Kim Kardashian
In a new sneak peek at the upcoming second episode of Caitlyn Jenner's groundbreaking reality series "I Am Cait," she nervously tries out her best feminine voice for stepdaughter Kim Kardashian, and it doesn't go so well.
While the interaction between Cait, Malika Haqq and Kim is humorous, it's born of something more serious. She explains how years before she ever lived her life publicly as Caitlyn, she wanted to feel what it was like to be recognized as a woman.
She explains, "Like, if you call down to room service, okay? I'd be sitting there in my little room, all by my lonesome, and I'd think, okay, I'm going to try to get my best feminine voice and call down so they say, 'Yes, ma'am.' I could never do it."
Kim encourages her, "Try it. I'll tell if you get a yes ma'am," but when Caitlyn does the voice, Kim laughs, "You sound no different!" Caitlyn later explains the deeper meaning of her longing to sound more feminine. "Women cannot relate to the whole voice thing," she explains. "They don't see it as being that important when it is that important, not only for you to speak and order and do all that kind of stuff, but very important for your soul that you're feeling good about that."
