George Clooney and Amal Headed to Tokyo and Shanghai
George Clooney hit the London premiere of his new film “Tomorrowland” solo, but for a good reason.
George stepping out without his wife of seven months, Amal, telling “Extra's” AJ Calloway, “She's good, she's back at the hotel working right now, trying to get somebody out of jail.” AJ saying, “You're working too.” He praised Amal's work as a human rights lawyer, saying, “I'm working, but I'm not trying to get somebody out of jail.”
Clooney explained that the jet-setting couple is staying in a hotel in London while they renovate their home. “It'll be a couple of months, so we're in a hotel now, which is odd, 'cause if you have a place, you should be in it.”
Next up for the superstar, more press for “Tomorrowland," then a little vacay. “Got a month of this, Tokyo, Shanghai, and that kind of thing… then head off to Como, and sit on the lake for a while, relax.”
AJ and the actor had a little fun together as AJ has been covering Clooney all over the world, even his wedding in Venice. Clooney joked, “It's like having a stalker, really, a well dressed stalker.” AJ said his wife is a little upset that he has spent more time with Clooney in Europe than with his own family. George replied with some marriage advice, “Tell her I'm sorry, if you were a really good husband, you'd bring her on trips… just saying, that's my gift to you for stalking.”
Clooney is also having fun with “Tomorrowland,” saying, “I wanted to work with Brad Bird who I love, brilliant, talented guy, I loved the first thing I saw, 'Iron Giant,' 'Incredibles,' he's a talented guy, then when he sent the script and said 'Do you wanna do it?' [I said], 'Yeah, I wanna work with you that'd be great,' so I was thrilled to be a part of it.”
“Tomorrowland” opens in theaters May 22.
