Comeback to Me: Janet Jackson Teases New Music, World Tour
It was just last month that a concerned Janet Jackson fan created a meme with a tongue-in-cheek missing-person poster saying the singer's absence from the music scene had gone on too long. "THE MUSIC INDUSTRY NEEDS YOU," it begged. Jackson called the poster "too funny, too sweet."
But last night, she decided what she's done for us lately hasn't been enough, posting a simple video on Vimeo in which her breathy voice says, "I promised you'd hear it from my lips, and now you will. This year: New music, new world tour, a new movement. I've been listening. Let's keep the conversation goin'."
The video ends with a shot of a hat and a pair of shades just begging to be filled.
The message is the latest in a series of baby steps Janet's been taking back into the public eye following her marriage to billionaire Wissam al Mana. At the end of April, she made a rare public appearance with her hubby at Giorgio Armani's 40th anniversary dinner in Milan. Could her next public steps be onto a stage?
