Thank Paris Hilton for Kim Kardashian’s Rocket Ride to Fame
Looks like we have Paris Hilton to thank for 10 drama-filled seasons of the hit reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
The 34-year-old blonde beauty sat down with Yahoo Editor-in-Chief Joe Zee for an exclusive interview for Yahoo Style, in which she dished on everything from fashion to her former reality show, to how she inspired former assistant and best friend Kim Kardashian to become famous.
"We've known each other since we were little girls, we've always been friends," Hilton told Yahoo Style. "It's nice to inspire people, so yeah, I'm really proud of her and what she's done.”
Hilton and Kim still keep in touch, they even hung out in New York recently with Kanye, and said they were “so cute together, they're the perfect couple.”
The former party girl brought up her own 2003 reality series “The Simple Life,” and talked about how she paved the way for reality stars like Kim.
“It was basically one of the first reality shows,” the heiress said about deciding to do the show with former BFF Nicole Richie. The premise was that they ditched their trust funds to go live on a farm for five weeks.
“I feel like I was basically born a brand by being born into the Hilton Hotel family, but I wanted to be my own brand,” she explained. “I didn't want to be known as just the Hilton Hotel granddaughter. So at a very young age, I made a decision that I wanted to become the Paris Hilton brand.”
