The Reason Joan Rivers Wasn’t Included in Oscars 'In Memoriam'
There were loud complaints after Joan Rivers was omitted in the In Memoriam portion of the 2015 Oscars, but the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had a reason.
The AMPAS released a statement (via FOX News), explaining the omission. "Joan Rivers is among the many worthy artists and filmmakers we were unfortunately unable to feature in the In Memoriam segment of this year's Oscar show. She is, however, included in our In Memoriam gallery on Oscar.com."
The In Memoriam segment honored the likes of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Maya Angelou, Mickey Rooney, Robin Williams, Lauren Bacall and many others.
