TV personality Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned to “Fox and Friends” on Friday, revealing that her month-long absence was due to a cancer scare.
Hasselbeck, 37, said that a tumor was found in her abdomen and had to be removed. Thankfully, the tumor was not cancerous.
The former “View” co-host explained, "I had a scary week when we didn't know what the results were," Hasselbeck said. "But I'm okay… everything came back okay. Surgery's not fun, but it is necessary to find out if you have something really terrible."
The mother of three became emotional as she told co-host Steve Doocy, "So many people I know have stared down the barrel of that cancer gun, and looked at it when they have gotten bad news and have done remarkable things, courageously, to fight it."
The FOX team, including Eric Bolling who was filling in for Brian Kilmeade, celebrated Elisabeth's clean bill of health with a cake from “Cake Boss.”
“Thank you, Cake Boss!” Hasselbeck said, as Bolling added, “Wherever you are.”
The quip apparently referenced TLC's famous pastry chef Buddy Valastro's arrest this week for DUI.
