'Walking Dead' Actress Sentenced to 18 Years for Sending Poison to President
A “Walking Dead” actress is headed to prison after threatening President Obama with poison!
Shannon Guess Richardson, who also had small roles in “The Blind Side” and "Vampire Diaries," was sentenced to 18 years behind bars for sending Pres. Obama, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Mark Glaze of the Raben Group ricin-laced letters.
The missives reportedly said, "You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. The right to bear arms is my constitutional God-given right. What's in this letter is nothing compared to what I've got planned for you… Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face.”
The FBI confirmed to CNN that the letters contained “very low concentrations” of toxins.
Initially, Richardson tried to blame her estranged husband Nathaniel Richardson, but authorities now believe she was framing him by setting up an email address, P.O. box, and PayPal account in his name to buy the ingredients for ricin.
She pled guilty to possessing and producing a biological toxin in December, and accepted a plea deal that capped her sentence at 18 years.
According to USA Today, the Texas mother of six told the courtroom, "I never intended for anybody to be hurt. I'm not a bad person. I don't have it in me to hurt anyone. I do love my country, and I respect my president."
