CNN Hero of the Year Nominees! Hear Their Inspiring Stories
A new crop of “everyday people changing the world” are competing for the CNN Hero of the Year Award, and boy are they inspiring!
For instance, there's Dale Beatty, who started a nonprofit that builds homes for disabled veterans, Danielle Gletow, who helps grant wishes to foster children and Dr. Laura Stachel, who provides healthcare workers in the developing world with unique tools like solar lighting kits.
These are just a few of the folks rounding out the top 10 nominees who will compete for a $250,000 grant to expand their efforts. Each contender will also walk away with a $50,000 grant for their nonprofit.
