Valerie Harper's Cancer: 'Close to Remission'
After being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in March, actress Valerie Harper has fought the odds and is "getting pretty close to a remission," physician Dr. Jeremy Rudnick revealed Thursday on "Today."
Dr. Rudnick warned that often cancer will develop a "resistance to the therapy. And it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when [it will become resistant]." He added, "Life is about buying time."
Harper responded, "Exactly. That's what I always say."
An hour-long documentary about Harper's battle with cancer will air September 19 at 10PM on NBC.
