‘The View’ Women on Barbara Walters’ Return and More Hot Topics
“Extra’s” AJ Calloway was on set of “The View” on Tuesday, talking with hosts Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd to discuss news that cohort Barbara Walters is returning to the show next week.
Walters called in on Tuesday’s show to say she will be back next Monday. The newswoman laughed, “They wanted to me to have rest, I have had enough rest… it's time for me to come back!”
Joy told Calloway, “She sounds like her same old self to us.” Shepherd added, “For Barbara to be still for this amount of time, not doing anything, that's torture.”
The women also weighed in on some of today’s headlines, including Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius and his intruder defense in the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Shepherd stated, “You ran in the Olympics. You've got big screen TVs. What intruder is going to go into the bathroom before he robs your house?!”
The TV morning show hosts also talked about the controversy over First Lady Michelle Obama’s participation in the 2013 Academy Awards.
Calloway commented, “Some people are saying she's overexposed.” Goldberg asked, “What kind of overexposure?” to which Shepherd added, “How can you be overexposed as the President and First Lady?”
