Sharon Osbourne Reveals She Had Double Mastectomy

“The Talk's” Sharon Osbourne isn't taking any chances. She survived colon cancer 10 years ago and after learning she carried a gene that could make her more susceptible to breast cancer, she underwent a double mastectomy, the exact date of which was not revealed.
She told Hello! magazine, "I've had cancer before, and I didn't want to live under that cloud. I decided to just take everything off, and had a double mastectomy."
The 60-year-old continued, "For me, it wasn't a big decision, it was a no-brainer. I didn't want to live the rest of my life with that shadow hanging over me."
Sharon is also a grandmother now. Her son Jack and wife Lisa Stelly welcomed baby Pearl in April.
"I want to be around for a long time and be a grandmother to Pearl," she said. "I didn't even think of my breasts in a nostalgic way. I just wanted to be able to live my life without that fear all the time."
The former “America's Got Talent” judge added, "It's not 'pity me.' It's a decision I made that's got rid of this weight that I was carrying around."
