Report: Tom Cruise Eyeing Eastwood's 'Star is Born'
Actor Tom Cruise is considering joining the Clint Eastwood film "A Star is Born."
Although no official negotiations have started, Variety reports Warner Bros. is courting the "Rock of Ages" star to play the over-the-hill musician who falls for a younger singer on the rise - and say Tom is interested, especially for the chance to work with Eastwood for the first time. Beyonce has already signed on to play the female lead.
The biggest hurdle would be working around Cruise's busy filming schedule. He starts shooting Universal's untitled, Joseph Kosinski-directed sci-fi pic next week, and after wrapping production on that film, he's signed on to star in Doug Liman's "All You Need Is Kill" for WB.
Other actors being considered include Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Cruise's next film "Rock of Ages" opens in theaters June 15.
