Marc Anthony Speaks Out about Split
Singer Marc Anthony will open up for the first time about his separation from wife Jennifer Lopez on ABC News, airing Thursday.
In a promo for the interview with reporter John Quinones, Anthony says, "I'll always love Jennifer."
While Marc chose to sit down for the televised special addressing his split, J.Lo spoke to Vanity Fair earlier this month about the breakup, saying she still believes in love. "It's still my biggest dream. I am positive -- determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong."
The mother of two added, she "will always respect Marc as a singer and performer ... He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children."
The couple announced in July that they were divorcing, after seven years of marriage. Anthony and Lopez have 3-year-old twins, Emme and Max.
Parts of the interview with Marc will air on Thursday's "Good Morning America," with the complete segment shown on "Nightline" in the evening.
UPDATE: ABC has released a few clips from Thursday's special with Mark Anthony. The singer denies having extramarital affairs and says his marriage simply no longer "worked."
"It was a realization on both our parts. So you know it wasn't shocking. These things happen," he said. "It was a decision that we made jointly."
Although Anthony avoided answering questions about his pending divorce, he told Quinones, "This is not a funeral. This is just two people who came together and just realized -- and so I'm saying that it wasn't sustainable the way it was, and that's that."
