Matthew Bellamy is a 32-year-old English rock star of the alternative rock band Muse, in which he plays lead guitar, piano, keytar and performs lead vocals.

Bellamy's father, George, was a guitarist in the 1960s pop group The Tornados, who produced "Telestar," the first-ever #1 US chart topper by a British band.

Matthew started playing piano at age 4. After his parents divorced, Matthew moved in with his grandmother, who encouraged him to start playing guitar at 14.

Bellamy wrote the song "Soaked," which appears on Adam Lambert's début album, "For Your Entertainment."

Matthew was ranked #19 on Gigwise's list of "The 50 Greatest Guitarists Ever."

Music Radar ranked Bellamy as the 9th Best Lead Singer of All Time, as part of a list of 30 top vocalists, which included Mick Jagger and Kurt Cobain.

Matthew designs his own guitars, which are made by Hugh Manson in Devon, England. His first and most famous is his silver Manson, which is named Delorean.

Matthew appears as a playable character in the video game Guitar Hero 5, along with the song "Plug In Baby."

It's reported that Bellamy started dating Kate Hudson in the spring of 2010.

In July, Kate and Bellamy went on a double date with Renée Zellweger and Bradley Cooper in Paris, according to People.com.
