Dr. Drew Says Lohan Needs Year in Outpatient Program
"Extra" Lifechanger Dr. Drew Pinsky, of VH1's "Celebrity Rehab" told "Extra" that even though Lindsay Lohan has finished her treatment at Betty Ford, in order for her to stay sober she still needs another year of treatment.
"She should be going to two meetings a day. She should be talking to her sponsor every day, working on her steps, and she needs to be in some kind of outpatient program," said Dr. Pinsky. "Now if she does that for a year she will get better... she will be fine."
The doctor added, "I recommend it all the time and my patients don't... they rarely take the full recommendation, so we'll see if Lindsay really does the work she needs to so desperately do. Remember, this is a woman that was dying six months go, had been incarcerated."
Finally reconciling with her estranged father, Michael Lohan, was a good move for the troubled starlet said Dr. Drew. "Getting her parents back in, finding forgiveness and being realistic about who your parents are, being able to communicate with them... that's when I knew things were actually getting better."
