Gwyneth Paltrow Battled Post-Partum Depression
"Iron Man 2" leading lady Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she went through a bout of depression after the April 2006 birth of her son, Moses.
"It was debilitating," the actress told "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli. "I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and why I was so down and disconnected and sort of outside my body."
She credits her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, for helping her recognize the problem.
"My husband actually was like, 'You're not okay. What's going on?' -- and then it was like a burst of a bubble, and I realized there was something wrong. Then I started to deal with it."
Nonetheless, Paltrow looked radiant at the "Iron Man 2" junket, which she joked was because she was pregnant... she's not.
What about that kiss between her character Pepper Potts and Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark? "I would say fantastic, verging on exceptional," she cooed.
Downey Jr. had his own take on the scene. "I couldn't get her off of me. It was embarrassing... despite what she said on set, she still thinks about it."
"Iron Man 2" opens in theaters May 7. Check our complete guide to the 2010 summer movies!
