Simon Cowell Calls Larry King Interview 'Uncomfortable'
"Extra's" Terri Seymour sat down with "American Idol's" Simon Cowell after he appeared on "Larry King Live" with "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest and the other "Idol" judges to talk about "Idol Gives Back."
"I'd say the entire show was uncomfortable," he told Terri. Simon tells "Extra" it got so bad he almost walked off the set, saying, "About halfway through I did actually think, why don't I just go?"
Even with all the tension, Simon says he considers Ryan a friend ... 99 percent of the time. The two, who famously have taken jabs at each other over the years, even pulled pranks on one another during this show's taping. "Ryan tried to make my chair lower than his," Simon said, "so what I did just seconds before the show went on air, I lowered his chair."
Immediately following the awkward interview, Simon says Seacrest high-tailed it out of there. Ryan "couldn't get out of here quick enough," he says, "because he knew I was angry with him."
It seems that Simon may have a new BFF on-set -- Ellen DeGeneres.
"I think she's suddenly realized, actually, what a nice person I really am. She's more comfortable with me and I like her a lot."
Catch "Idol" on FOX tonight, and see if tension is still brewing.
