UNICEF Ambassador Selena Gomez: We Need Help
UNICEF Ambassador Selena Gomez has a message for her fans: we need help now.
"By now, I'm sure you all know about the earthquake that has devastated Haiti. The first 48 hours after a natural disaster are the most critical," Gomez, 17, says in a YouTube plea. "UNICEF is on the ground right now to provide the children who are affected with the things they need to survive, like food and shelter and clean water."
The "Wizards of Waverly Place" star urges people to act quickly.
She continues, "We need your help. So please stop whatever you're doing to visit UnicefUSA.org to make a donation. Please join me in praying for all of those who are affected. Thank you for your support."
Selena's message comes as the Haitian Red Cross estimates that between 45,000-50,000 were killed in the massive earthquake that hit the country's capital, Port-au-Prince, on Tuesday.
