'Up in the Air,' 'Nine,' Lead Golden Globe Noms

George Clooney's "Up in the Air" received the top number of Golden Globe nods Tuesday morning with six.
The recession-era tale is up for Best Drama, and Clooney, Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick are nominated for acting honors.
"Avatar," "The Hurt Locker," "Inglourious Basterds," and "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" are up against "Up in the Air" in the Drama category.
"Nine" came in second place with five nominations, including Best Musical or Comedy and acting honors for Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard.
The musical (out Dec. 25) is up a against "(500) Days of Summer," "The Hangover" and Meryl Streep's "It's Complicated" and "Julie & Julia."
The show airs Jan. 17.
