The marriage between Katie Lee and Billy Joel is over -- and it could be because of a fashion designer!
In December, Katie Lee was spotted getting dirty on the dance floor with fashion designer Yigal Azrouël. He reportedly even introduced her as his girlfriend.
"Extra" has uncovered some juicy tidbits about Azrouël!
He is of French Moroccan descent and was born and raised in Israel.
Yigal moved to the Big Apple in 1996 with $500. Two years later, he launched his first collection in New York.
In July 2004, Azrouël was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
Azrouël was never formally trained in fashion design. He tells W Magazine, “I couldn't afford to go to design school, and no one would hire me because I had no papers.”

At NYC Fashion Week 2009, Yigal Azrouël fired his front-of-house publicist, People Revo-lution's Kelly Cutrone... for inviting ex-hooker Ashley Dupre to sit in the front row at his show.
Yigal collaborated with K-Swizz in 2008 and launched his own Spring 2009 menswear collection.
Azrouël joined the Israeli military at age 18 and served for three years.
Some sources report his 2006 sales at $1,500,000.
