Free 'Candy' from Madonna
For Madonna fans in New York City yesterday, the wait was finally over. After four days of waiting in lines, hardcore fans scored wristbands granting free admission to the Material Mom's Manhattan show.
The concert, which came days after the release of her "Hard Candy" album, was said to be a "thank you" for Madge's loyal fans.
"I think it's a great way for real fans to get in and that's what Madonna wants," said her publicist Liz Rosenberg to the New York Post, "We who all work on Madonna's behalf have made a very concerted effort to make sure that as many tickets as possible get into the hands of real fans."
Only the most devoted fans would do what it took to obtain the coveted free wristbands -- the line began forming this weekend as hopefuls chugged coffee and camped out in hopes of seeing the pop legend's concert.
