No Change in Brit’s Visitation Rights
After a contentious day in court, no changes were made in visitation rights for Britney Spears. A judge ruled that she'll continue to have phone contact only with sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.
The fallen pop idol does have a new lawyer, however. She'll be represented by Stacy Phillips, who once represented Bobby Brown in his divorce from Whitney Houston. But there's a catch – the court ruled Britney can choose her own lawyer once her father Jamie's conservatorship ends.
Also today, the L.A. family court commissioner rejected a request by Britney's attorneys for a gag order, saying it wasn't the court's job to protect the troubled star from paparazzi.
The custody hearing was the first since Britney's mental breakdowns. She hasn't seen her kids since Jan. 3, when she reportedly locked herself in a bathroom with Jayden.
