Lawyer for Anna Nicole's Baby Wants Payment
The lawyer who represented Anna Nicole Smith's infant daughter is asking for nearly $200,000 dollars in legal fees. He wants the money to come from the trust set up in Dannielynn's name.
Richard Milstein was the court-appointed guardian for Dannielynn Hope Marshall Birkhead during the time that lawyers disputed over Anna Nicole's body. He also helped arrange her funeral. In his filing, Milstein said he worked for just over two weeks.
Attorneys for Larry Birkhead, Dannielynn's father, and Howard K. Stern say the bill would leave nothing for Dannielynn, because there's only about $200,000 remaining in the trust. They did note, however, that she could inherit millions.
A hearing for the matter is set for Nov. 8, but Birkhead, Stern and Anna Nicole's mother Virgie Arthur are adamantly against it.
"It is unconscionable for a trust established for a baby to be billed at a large firm hourly rate," wrote attorneys for Birkhead and Stern. They also said that Virgie Arthur should pay at least part of the bill, but her attorney called that notion “ridiculous.”
