It's A Girl for Tiger Woods!
Has the world's next best golf star been born? With Tiger Woods as the daddy, there's a good chance!
Tiger and his wife, Elin Nordegren, are the proud parents of a baby girl named Sam Alexis Woods. It's the couple's first child.
"Both Elin and Sam are doing well and resting peacefully," Tiger wrote on his website. "We want to thank our doctors and the hospital staff for all their dedicated and hard work. This is truly a special time in our lives, and we look forward to introducing Sam to our family and friends over the next few weeks."
Sam was born less than 24 hours after Tiger came in second in the U.S. Open on Father's Day.
But he's not thinking about the loss since the arrival of his new daughter.
When he announced his wife's pregnancy last December, Tiger revealed, "I have always wanted to be a dad. I just wish my father could be around to share the experience."
Tiger's dad, Earl Woods, died in 2006.
