Sir Paul Sends Heather Flowers Before Her Big Debut
“Dancing with the Stars” made a sweet, saucy and smooth return to ABC Monday night, and the new stars did not disappoint with their sexy dance moves and intriguing personalities.
After Heather Mills showed off her moves to the nearly 25 million viewers, the “Dancing Star” came straight to “Extra” to talk about her primetime debut.
“I'm pleased…Jonathan thinks I did a bit better in rehearsal,” she admitted.
Heather also told “Extra” that she got flowers from her ex, Sir Paul McCartney, as she prepared for her ballroom debut.
But not everything went as smoothly for some of the other contestants. Just ask former 'N Sync star Joey Fatone, who lost his microphone down the back of his pants.
“And then I was like, 'What is behind me?' Let me pull this microphone out of my butt!” he said.
The same goes for former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey, who let “Extra” in on her near backstage disaster.
“I fell on the stairs... you didn't see that?” she said of her entrance. “The bottom three stairs... missed them.”
While there were no perfect scores on Monday night, Laila Ali and Joey Fatone established themselves as the early frontrunners.
“We are the champions already, you're looking at them,” Leila said of her and partner Max.
And although Joey wants to win, he told us he is also on a mission to shed the nickname “Fat One.”
But it's already evident you won't be able to call him that for long; Joey has already shed 20 pounds!
“I've been doing NutriSystem and dancing,” Joey dished. “It's been good, I can't complain.”
Speaking of complaining, Judge Carrie Ann had no complaints from the first night, although she did say there's plenty of room for improvement.
“This week I will say the level was a little lower than we're used to, and so the marks reflected that,” Carrie Ann dished.
Watch the dancers continue to shine and their scores continue to soar as “Dancing with the Stars” steps back onto ABC next Monday!
