Deciding Factors on Who Made the OUT100!

What do a former gubernatorial candidate, a group of lifestyle advisors and a style guru all have in common? They have all made OUT magazine’s OUT100 list!

OUT magazine is honoring Cynthia Nixon as Hero of the Year, Jeremy Scott as Stylemaker of the Year and the cast of "Queer Eye" as Entertainers of the Year.

As for how the list was curated, OUT editor R. Kurt Osenlund said, “This is the most diverse 100 list that has been released in the 24-year portfolio. It’s not just a conscious choice but a conscious reflection of what our community looks like. We looked at different areas of culture whether it be in entertainment or politics, community organizing, activism, or music. Just looked at every pocket of culture to see who was standing out and making their voice heard. We found a lot of different people in a lot of different fields of different types.”

He added, “Our community is not one size, it’s not one shape, it’s not one color, and it’s not one gender identity. It dictated how we chose people, but it was an organic process because it’s simply what our community looks like.”
