Jessica Chastain Shares How a Popular Beauty Product Makes Women Feel Powerful

“Extra’s” Renee Bargh caught up with Jessica Chastain to talk about her new movie, “Miss Sloane,” in which she portrays a high-powered lobbyist in Washington, D. C.

“I’m hoping women watch this movie and they go, "Yes, I can ask for a pay raise, yes, I can ask for a promotion; I deserve this,” Chastain professed.

When asked if she saw a parallel between the film and the recent presidential election, Jessica’s co-star Gugu Mbatha-Raw jumped in, saying, “I absolutely do. You see that women and gender politics is so resonant for today.”

Jessica noticed something really interesting when she was doing research for the film. “Seven of the 11 women [lobbyists] I met were wearing different shades of black nail polish,” she shared. “Whatever it was, I was like, 'I’m gonna use this.' Maybe it’s an aggressive thing; it shows power.”

“Miss Sloane” opens Friday, November 25!
