Ellen Pompeo Dishes on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Future, Plus: The Inspiration Behind Husband Chris Ivery’s Sportswear

TV superstar Ellen Pompeo is supporting her husband Chris Ivery's new sportswear, STLA, and looks good doing it!

“Extra's” Renee Bargh caught up with Ellen at the launch, where she opened up on her career on “Grey's Anatomy” and the Ariana Grande video she made that got the seal of approval from the pop star herself.

Pompeo, a fixture on ABC's hit medical drama “Grey's Anatomy” for 15 seasons, said, “Nobody stays that long, I'm half crazy and half super smart.”

Will she be on the show forever? Ellen commented, “Well, not forever," adding, “I take it year by year but, yes, I am signed to Season 16, beyond that we don't know, I'm just super grateful to the fans are still loving the show as much as they are.”

Fans also loved Ellen's rendition of Ariana Grande's “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored” that she did with her “Grey's” co-star Giacomo Gianniotti. Grande wrote on Instagram, "guys if I'm honest ......... this is the best thing that's ever happened to me.” Ellen, who didn't expect that reaction, shared, “We did the high ponytail and then we got to set and we were playing the song we were waiting them to finish the lighting and I was like let's do an Instagram…and I grabbed Giac,'let's go we're making a video'…so it was just having fun it was amazing that she saw it and loved it.”

Joined by Chris, Ellen dished on the inspiration behind his relaunching Sergio Tacchini as STLA. She explained, “Sergio Tecchini is a classic luxury sportswear brand, it's been around since the late '60s, Chris just had this idea… He started researching and calling Italy and inquiring about the license and said I'd really love to take a crack to be the creative director for this brand… and here we are and the collection is beautiful.”

Chris added, “I grew up, you know, really admiring the brand and when I had a chance to be a part of it, I jumped at the chance.”
