It was date night for newlyweds Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus, who made their first appearance as a married couple as Liam was honored at the G’Day USA Gala Saturday evening.
Liam was with “Extra’s” Renee Bargh on the red carpet, where he gushed over his bride, "It’s all wonderful and I feel very lucky to be with her."
Dishing on how they kept their holiday nuptials in Tennessee quiet, he said, "It wasn’t hard — we have a small group of friends. It was mainly immediate family, a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. I am very happy to be where I am."
Saying married life is "the same but different," he noted, "We’ve been together for the better part of 10 years."
Miley, stunning in a slinky black number with a plunging neckline, recently shared a poem in which she outlined everything she loves about Liam, so Renee asked how he will top that for Valentine's Day." Liam seemed to accept the challenge, saying, "I'm definitely going to take that into account and try to top it."
The couple recently lost their home in the Malibu fires, but Liam wanted fans to know, “We’re fine, we have insurance... It sucks, but we’re okay. We will rebuild."
As for his G'Day honor for excellence in film, the actor said, "I feel very grateful to receive this award, feel really lucky and privileged. I feel kind of weird for getting an award for doing what I do... I’m very thankful for it."
