Just hours after their big pregnancy announcement, Meghan Markle debuted her barely-there baby bump during a royal engagement with Prince Harry.
For her first outing, Markle wore a form-fitting white dress by Australian designer Karen Gee, which retails for $1,285.
Gee told Harper’s Bazaar, “It’s an absolute honor to have Meghan wear our dress. The fact that she could choose anyone in the world and she’s chosen Karen Gee on her first day is phenomenal. The purpose of the brand is to encourage women to feel good no matter what size and shape they are. I truly believe Meghan is empowering because she is confident, backs herself — and who doesn’t love her?”
Meghan accessorized with Princess Diana’s butterfly earrings and gold bracelet.
During their visit to Admiralty House in Sydney, Meghan and Harry received baby gifts from Governor General Peter Cosgrove. Meghan reacted, saying, “That’s so cute, it’s our first baby gift!”
Harry acknowledged the pregnancy in his speech at the welcome reception, saying, "We also, genuinely, couldn’t think of a better place to announce, uh, the upcoming baby, be it a boy or girl, so thank you very much.”
Meghan and Harry will be touring Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand for two weeks.
