On Thursday, Chris Evans made a big announcement about his future as Captain America.
Evans played the superhero for nearly a decade, but he’s officially stepping away from the role. He tweeted, “Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.”
Earlier this year, Evans hinted that the end was near, telling The New York Times, “You want to get off the train before they push you off.”
After Evans’ tweet, rumors started swirling that Captain America will die in the fourth installment of “Avengers.” We’ll have to wait and see!
“Avengers 4” hits theaters May 3, 2019.
