Surprise! Couple Gets Engaged During Emmys 2018 Telecast

On Monday, there was an Emmy first… a proposal on live TV!
Glenn Weiss won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for the Oscars. During his acceptance speech, he popped the question to girlfriend Jan, who was beyond shocked!

For anyone who missed the epic moment, after going down on one knee in front of the star-studded audience, Glenn gave his late mom's engagement ring to Jan. He looked into the camera and jokingly told his siblings, “Dad knows I have it.”
Before revealing that he wanted to make Jan his wife, Weiss revealed he lost his mom just two weeks ago.
The camera showed a variety stars who were clearly moved by what just went down, including Claire Foy.
Leslie Jones reacted to the proposal, tweeting, "Man that was the best speech ever! #emmys2018."
