“Extra’s” AJ Calloway caught up with Savannah Guthrie at this year’s Matrix Awards in NYC, where the “Today” co-anchor talked about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal newborn boy, and Prince Harry’s upcoming wedding to Meghan Markle, and more.
Guthrie, who got to break the news about the royal baby to “Today” viewers this morning, said she guessed Kate was having a girl, joking that of course that meant she was having a boy.
Savannah also revealed that the “Today” show team will be heading to London to cover the royal wedding… even if they didn’t receive an official invite. Now all she needs is a fascinator hat!
Guthrie was host at the New York Women in Communications’ Matrix Awards, which honors women in the field.
This year’s honorees included actress Halle Berry, “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski, Condé Nast’s Kim Kelleher, Snap, Inc.’s Betsy Kenny Lack, Combs Enterprises’ Dia Simms, The Estée Lauder Companies’ Alexandra Trower and The Female Quotient’s Shelley Zalis.
Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporters Jodi Kantor, Emily Steel and Megan Twohey also received the inaugural Incite Awards for their coverage of sexual misconduct.
