Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan debuted a brand-new look at the 2018 Oscars!
Ronan chopped off her long blonde locks and showed off a much shorter 'do on the red carpet at the star-studded event, where she wore Calvin Klein.
Her hairstylist Adir Abergel told Us Weekly, “Saoirse and I had been talking for a while about doing a major cut and after finally seeing the dress, which was so modern and linear, we knew this was the moment to do it.”
After the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday, the 23-year-old went through the major hair transformation. Adir revealed, “I ran to style Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell for a pre-Oscars Chanel dinner, and then went to Saoirse’s place to end the night with the big chop!”
Aside from her hair, Ronan’s pink dress was being compared to the dress Gwyneth Paltrow wore when she won her Oscar in 1998. Her stylist Elizabeth Saltzman told Women’s Wear Daily, “What we didn’t want to do is go dark. The whole thing was about lightness and light, and more timeless and fun. There needed to be an element of something special, but it really had to do with it focusing on Saoirse and it being modern, but iconic and timeless.”
Saoirse made the final decision on her dress on Saturday. Elizabeth added, “There was a clear, right moment. There was a lot of emotion. It was genuine, deep happiness. Huge grin, that beautiful Saoirse calm, peaceful, exuberance. It’s exactly what you want a woman to feel like.”
