“Extra’s” Tanika Ray sat down with Viola Davis on the set of her primetime hit “How to Get Away with Murder.”
The Oscar, Emmy and Tony award winner plays alcoholic lawyer Annalise Keating, in a role that is both daring and challenging for the star.
She told Tanika, “Before I did this show I was comfortably wearing aprons and being drug-addicted mothers in certain neighborhoods, and all of a sudden I was Annalise Keating, rolling around with women, men… and getting my wig off and all of that. Every episode is a new test to my comfort level, but I love that.”
Davis also dished on what's ahead for Season 4, saying, “Annalise is rising like a phoenix. She's getting through… well, managing her alcoholism and getting her groove back... that is what you are going to see as the season moves, she's getting her groove… all the things that make her great. All the things that make her black girl magic, #annalisemojo. She's gonna get it back.”
Tanika also asked Viola her thoughts on the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. She said, “It’s a new day, a new time, and we have to tap our power. Shoot, we're powerful. I know I am, especially when I get my 8 hours of sleep.”
Watch “How to Get Away with Murder” Thursday nights on ABC.
