Cornell, who died in May 2017, wrote and performed the title song for the film “The Promise,” about the Armenian Genocide.

The proceeds from “The Promise” movie were donated to human rights causes and used to created the Promise Institute for Human Rights at UCLA School of Law. Cornell also donated his earnings from the song to the International Rescue Committee. The song “The Promise” is now up for a Grammy.

Last month, the rocker’s wife Vicky created The Chris Cornell Scholarship fund for students at UCLA School of Law. The scholarship honors Chris’ commitment to human rights.
