Speaking out on behalf of Puerto Rico — much of which still does not have power months after the hurricane season ended — Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez appeared at a press conference Sunday to show support for the #MeToo and #TIMESUP movements while calling attention to the island's plight.
Saying she and Rodriquez were "humbled and proud" to be advocating on behalf of Puerto Rico, Lopez went on to say, "Today is the Golden Globes in Los Angeles and a lot of the women — with #TIMESUP — are standing up for equality, to be treated equally, and for sexual harassment, and I stand here today in black doing the same from far away. And it's the same thing with here in Puerto Rico — we want to be treated equally."
Watch the emotional moment:
Many women and men attending Sunday's Golden Globes in L.A. wore black to honor those who are victims of sexual harassment and abuse.
