“Extra’s” Renee Bargh and Adam Glassman caught up with Chrissy Metz at the Golden Globes where she talked about the #TIMESUP movement and what is ahead on “This Is Us.”
Chrissy Metz was supporting women by wearing the #TIMESUP badge, and explained, “We have a platform in this beautiful and amazing career path we have chosen, to be a voice for the voiceless, to hopefully inspire people to really understand what importance this means… pioneers became pioneers for a reason.”
She continued, “There are so many people we have of course come before us, lucky we get to pass the torch and I hope we get to do that and people are open to the message and what really needs to change.” She said she feels there will be a change. “I do feel a major shift happening in the world... Really excited and grateful for it.”
Chrissy also talked “This Is Us,” breaking this news, “I think there's going to be a wedding.” She seemed to be referring to her character Kate marrying Toby.
Renee asked, “It's going to happen?” Chrissy answered, “That's what I’ve heard…” Renee couldn’t believe it, saying, “What?! Breaking news! I thought you guys were going to leave us hanging.”
The show returns to NBC next week, and Chrissy says her on-screen brother Justin Hartley who plays Kevin will also have some important scenes. “As we saw Kevin, Justin’s character, really have a hard time with his pill addiction, and the thing that he is dealing with… we’re going to see how that’s affected the family and how he comes through that.”
