Months ahead of Meghan Markle's spring nuptials with Prince Harry, her future sister-in-law is making headlines for a shocking arrest.
Darlene Blount, who is engaged to Markle's half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault on January 1 following an altercation with Thomas in Oregon, Us Weekly reports.
Thomas Markle said in a DailyMail.com interview in December that he hoped to attend the royal wedding, but also made clear with his comments that an invite was not a done deal. Markle said, "I don’t know if [Meghan] gets to invite who she wants. But she’ll reach out if she wants me there. She’ll call me. She knows where to find me. But that’s up to her, there’s no pressure. I wouldn’t mind seeing my little sister have the biggest wedding in the world."
Previous Markle family drama followed a remark by Prince Harry, who said his would be "the family that I suppose [Meghan]'s never had." In response, Markle's half-sister Samantha tweeted, "She has a large family. She always did. Our dad is amazing and completely self sacrificing. We made it so that she had two houses. How fun it was!"
