The same week she grabbed unwelcome headlines for allegedly tussling with cops in Palm Beach, "The Real Housewives of New York City" star Luann de Lesseps has checked herself into rehab, People reports.
In a statement to People, de Lesseps said, "After the events of last Saturday night in Palm Beach, I am truly embarrassed. I have decided to seek professional guidance and will be voluntarily checking into an alcohol treatment center. I intend to turn this unfortunate incident into a positive life changing event. Once again, I sincerely apologize for my actions."
She went on to especially apologize for disrespecting police officers, saying, "I have the greatest respect for police officers and the job they do. My actions alleged in the police report do not reflect my core values and my law abiding character."
Luckily, de Lesseps is feeling the love from fans, noting, "I am so grateful for the love and support that I am receiving from my family, friends and loyal supporters.”
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, she was arrested one week ago and charged with disorderly intoxication, battery on an officer/firefighter/EMT, resisting arrest with violence, and threatening a public servant. The incident reportedly involved de Lesseps trespassing inside a hotel room with an unknown man at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach.
It was reported that de Lesseps told one cop, "I'm going to kill you all."
It has been an annus horribilis for the reality star, who divorced Tom D'Agostino in July after marrying him in Palm Beach on New Year's Eve 2016. "I am committed to a transformative and hopeful 2018," de Lesseps said in a statement immediately following her arrest.
