Earlier this month, “Veep" actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus revealed she is battling breast cancer, just weeks after winning an Emmy.
At the time, she wrote on Instagram, "1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one.”
On Thursday, Louis-Dreyfus used humor to reveal she has completed her second round of chemotherapy. Along with a pic of herself in a hoodie with a mustache drawn on, she thanked “Veep” co-star Tony Hale and Katy Perry for “their hilarious and loving inspiration.” Along with a lyric from Katy’s hit song “Roar,” she added, "We are NOT f**king around here. 'I’ve got the eye of the tiger. The Fighter dancing through the fire cuz I am a champion and your’re going to hear me ROAR.’”
According to People magazine, Julia was diagnosed with breast cancer one day after the Emmys. As a result of the news, it was revealed that her shooting schedule for “Veep” may be adjusted. HBO said in a statement, "Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time. We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of ‘Veep.'”
