Former “Destiny’s Child” singer Michelle Williams is opening up about her past struggles with depression.
Despite being in “one of the top-selling female groups of all time” with Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, Michelle was down in the dumps, “suffering from depression.” During an appearance on “The Talk,” Williams shared, "When I disclosed it to our manager [Mathew Knowles] at the time, bless his heart, he was like, ‘You all just signed a multi-million-dollar deal. You’re about to go on tour. What do you have to be depressed about?’”
The depression and the sadness she felt got "to the point where I was suicidal… and wanted out,” according to Michelle.
Williams, 37, wanted to share her story to “normalize the conversation.” She also praised Demi Lovato for her openness about mental health in her new documentary.
