Beth Chapman took a major step in her battle with cancer, undergoing a 12-hour surgery in L.A., according to TheBlast.com.
The reality star, who is married to Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman, was recently diagnosed with stage II throat cancer.
During the operation, doctors were reportedly able to remove a plum-sized tumor from her neck.
RadarOnline.com says Beth was supposed to be recovering in a rehab facility after having the surgery last week, but was readmitted to the hospital over the weekend.
Now, the couple is waiting to hear on pathology tests and a prognosis.
Earlier this month, Beth shared the health news in a letter to friends.
A copy of the letter, obtained by Radar, states, “I’ve been dealt my share of unexpected blows over the course of my almost fifty years but nothing as serious as the one I heard from my doctors two weeks ago when they uttered those dreaded three words, ‘You have cancer.’”
"After months of a nagging cough," the 49-year-old continued, “a routine checkup resulted in a diagnosis of stage II throat cancer. I have what is referred to as a T2 Tumor in my throat that is blocking my breathing. My doctors are suggesting immediate treatment and surgery before the disease progresses.”
Through it all, she is striving to stay positive. She insisted, “A bend in the road is not the end of the road.”
