It was a big night for “Big Little Lies”! The show nabbed eight Emmys, and the cast couldn’t have been more excited.
Case in point… Nicole Kidman gave her on-screen husband Alexander Skarsgård a congratulatory kiss as he took the stage to accept Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. The Emmy win was a first for Skarsgård.
During his acceptance speech, Alexander told the ladies from the show, including Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz, “Thank you for making this boy feel like one of the girls.”
Later in the night, Nicole won Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series or Movie and gave her real-life husband Keith Urban a big smooch before thanking him and their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith.
Kidman told the crowd, “I have two little girls — Sunnie and Faith — and my darling Keith who I asked to help me pursue this artistic path. And they have sacrificed so much for it.”
She continued, “So this is yours. I just want my two little girls to have this on their shelf and to look at it and go, ‘Every time my mama didn’t put me to bed, it’s because of this — [at least] I got something!’”
Dern won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie and the show won the top prize for Outstanding Limited Series.
