Sean Lowe Comes to the Aid of Hurricane Harvey Victims, Plus: How Celebrities Are Helping Relief Efforts

“The Bachelor” alum Sean Lowe to the rescue!

Not only is he bringing awareness, Lowe is doing what he physically can to help Hurricane Harvey victims. He posted a photo of himself on a boat, writing on Instagram Monday, "Today I had the chance to do what I could to help some people in the Houston area. I couldn't believe the devastation.”

He added, "My heart broke for all the elderly who are immobile and the mothers trapped in their homes with young babies. But I was encouraged by the selflessness of so many Texans who came to help where they could. Definitely a day I'll never forget.”

Eva Longoria is another Texan who took to Instagram to share her experience. She said, "Just got home from Texas. I was in San Antonio, so it wasn't as bad as other areas of Texas. I'm praying for my home state and all those who are suffering through the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.”

"Stay strong Texas and a big Texas size thank you to all the first responders, National Guard, Red Cross, volunteers, etc,” Eva went on. "Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our hearts and capacity to help. #GodBlessTexas 🙏🏻.”

The Kardashians have also found a way to help the victims, donating $500,000 to the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. Kim tweeted, "Houston we are praying for you! My mom, sisters & I will be donating $500,000 to @redcross and @salvationarmyus today #HoustonStrong." TMZ was the first to report the news.

Some of the other big names to donate money include Jennifer Lopez, Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Hart, Chris Young, and J.J. Watt. See their announcements below!
